5 Colour Trends Dominating 2019

There is an infinite number of colours that are visible to the human eye. Yet when Pantone announced the “Colour of the Year for 2019” every enthusiastic fashion lover was a bit disappointed. When learning Living coral, a salmon pink colour, was this year’s winner I was a bit shocked. I like to keep on top of the latest trends, and nowhere from the runways to street styles was there a Living Coral colour.
After the disappointing reveal it got me wondering what are the top colour trends are for 2019. I dove into some trend research and narrowed them down to the top 5 colours of 2019. My theory for 2019 is bright beautiful colours. These colours provide an emotional uplift by instantly putting you in a great mood. So, with that being said, here are the colours you are about to see all year round.
Jacquemus, Molly Godard, Saint Laurent
Magenta is such a bold colour. It has a quality about it that makes you want to give and feel all the love possible. Wearing a colour this bold and emotional, instantly has someone feeling confident and beautiful; giving off an infinite energy of love. This colour can instantly brighten up your outfit, whether it be the colour of your pair of shoes, a purse, or your eyewear.
Christopher Kane, Givenchy, Stella McCartney
Green has this balance between a warm, springtime freshness, and a cooling, ocean’s wavy, feeling. This rich green is such a versatile colour that there is no particular season to wear it. It can be worn during the spring, fall or even winter time. Because of its warming and cooling tones, this is a year-round colour.
3. Aspen Gold
This sunburnt yellow/orange combo is what makes you feel immediately happy and energetic. Yellow helps to really clear doubts and confusion, and it really actually shines a light on things we’re not sure about. Even anyone that passes by has an automatic smile on their face. This colour is golden, wearing this out on a beautiful summer day helps you pop out and feel as bright as the sun. If you are someone who isn’t about bright clothes, a nice backpack or crossbody is a great combo.
4. Princess Blue
This royal blue colour has a very calming effect on our mental activity and our nervous system. This is the colour that actually has you standing out in a crown on a gloomy winter evening. A full maxi royal blue dress with a beige trench coat is a great fall/winter combo. This colour makes you embrace your wild side and has you feeling confident.
Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Marni
This colour is the definition of BOLD! This is all about action, ambition, energy, and feels feisty. Is there such a thing as too much red? Definitely. Take it too far and this stimulating ray can lead to aggression. Wearing a nice silky red dress helps calm down the colour. But for those who shy away from something so brash, try a pair of heels to pair with your favourite jeans or a fiesta red handbag with your black jacket.
Happy Shopping everyone!
