Its the first day of October, which means that fall is in the air. Autumn calls for change, and just as the leaves are changing our wardrobe is deserving of a mega change too. So we pumpkin spice everything lets look into the trends that will keep you on-trend all season long. The following is the Fall/ Winter 2019, Runway look, fashion trends .
Statement coats and Suits
The 80s are making a comeback shoulder pads and all. Straight from the runway, the 80s inspired trench coats and suit jackets are the newest trends this fall. Talk about woman empowerment suit jackets screams independent woman. This look is best paired up with classic pumps for an overall sophisticated look.
The punk trend is not your typical Avril Lavigne early 2000's punk look. Instead, this season incorporates statement pieces that are loud and clear. According to Vogue "rebellious and inspired, carving her path with studs, boxy, androgynous designs and all of the style-tricks of punk, grunge and bondage, for a cool, detached style revival that defies tired convention."
Puffed up outerwear
We are bringing back to puffer jackets with this winter fashion trend. Quilted puffed jackets and voluminous styles are what's on trend this season. The bigger, the better incorporated with textile designs that fit within the theme of fall fashion too. According to Vogue At Bottega Veneta, Alexander McQueen and Balenciaga, designs were balloon-like, softly curved and contoured, for a somehow over-stated yet gentle allure".
This season incorporates a bit of lingerie or lace for a more sexier look. This style is not only reserved for the night time and works best when it is layered with other pieces. Whether it be a lace, stoking, necklace or bodysuit under an oversized coat, the lace look is serves a hint of sexy meets classy.
Checks over stripes
Last season Poko-dots and strips mixed with bold, bright colours were the trends now for fall 2019 checks are whats in. Mixed in with variations of different colours checkered patterns are the new statement piece for this fall.
Monochromatic earth tones
New York fashion week did a tremendous job at highlighting the fashion-forward influx of toned camel browns for its outerwear collection. All though, not everyone is a fan of dressing in brown from head to toe, the aesthetic of this trend is a very "warm" and a appropriate tone for fall. Fall colours inspired from this trend vary from peachy pink to "Russet" orange.
